Questions about AMSA and how it is being set up.
About AMSA →Tell us about a swim you are planning: route, date window, category and arrangements. Applications are opening soon but not yet open; an enquiry is not an application and approves nothing.
How ratification will work →A free, non-binding expression of interest from experienced swimmers, swimming officials and maritime professionals. Please include your experience, where you are based and the languages you speak.
About observing →Newspaper reports, logbooks, photographs, original certificates or witness accounts of African swims. Submissions are free, and every contribution is moderated before anything is published.
How records are classified →A new route you plan to pioneer, a shorter crossing worth considering as a Recognised Crossing, or sources about an existing route’s history, geography and local requirements.
Pioneer a route →Comments on the draft rules or the proposed operating framework, while they are still drafts.
Governance and policies →Swimming associations, clubs and other organisations interested in working with AMSA. Collaboration does not imply affiliation or endorsement.
If you hold original documents or photographs of a historical swim, please keep the originals. When submissions open, we will explain how to share copies and how any personal information will be handled.
